As I have already mentioned we have moved in a new appartment. We are absolute beginners in doing things like fixing the floor or building furniture but we learn as quick as we can. Thanks to youtube you can gain so much knowledge without the need to call some relative craftsman to ask him "how to" and feel stupid because you still don't understand. And the whole renovating thing becomes fun as we start seing first results: it stops to be someones else flat and starts to turn into our future home! Here are our first learnings. Learning number 1: What other people consider to be an acceptable floor is not alway acceptable. Learning number 2: You can get unbelievably much stuff in an incredibly small lifestyle car. Like here is the complete floor for our living room plus everything you need to put it into place. Learning number 3:
Even a small room takes twice as much time as you think. (Oh, I am already in love with this floor to be!!!) Last Saturday we got the keys from our new appartment and started to renovate it. It keeps me so busy & happy at the same time. Finally a place that I can arrange to my taste! Well, more or less to my taste as we only rent it. I like lots of things about our new appartment: the Bauhaus mood & style, the big patio-terrace that offers a lot of space for my future secret garden, and the possibility to win space for my own walk-in closet! Wow!!!
There are things that I will be missing in our new flat though. Here is one of them: sunrise over the lake Constance as seen out of the window... Yes-yes-yes, we opened the ice season! The address? "Fernando" in Radolfzell am Bodensee - good Italian ice. La dolce-deutsche vita, da vero!
We spent this Sunday in Meersburg, a beautiful old town just across the sea. Actually those were just a couple of hours we spent there but crossing the sea, the good local wine, the dreamlike scenery and the peaceful atmosphere made it feel like a real holiday.
