It is so satisfying to wake up and to harvest a tomato heart in my balcony garden! Totally worth all theplanting and watering efforts. One of the nice things about living at the lake Constance (and there are thousands of amazing things about it!) is that the neighbour countries are so very exciting. With no problems you can do a day trip to Austria to enjoy their wonderful "Grüner Veltliner" wine in the Bregenzer forest; to France to eat Éclairs where they taste best; to Switzerland for a peaceful walk in the mountains...
The last is what we did last Sunday. We went to the amazing Appenzellerland, the idyllic home of the famous mountain cheese. No matter where you look you feel like you are inside of a classy advertising film for tasty something made of milk of happy cows feeding green grass on the juicy hills under blue skyies far apart from any civilisation. Here are some impressions of that day. #switzerland #travel #countrylife Today I went to a very special store opening event in Überlingen at lake Constance. And there is somethin I have to tell you: if you still think that Germans are a dull and boring nation just have a look at these picture. How can people who like these happy-go-colour pieces can ever be boring? No way, dolls!
www.facebook.com/fridas.ueberlingen Right here: Münsterstr.49, Überlingen, Germany This week I learned a lesson that I will hopefully remember at least for another week: say "no" to your laziness as often as you can. I was already holding my car keys in the hand leaving for the office when I changed my mind and took the bike. It was a beautiful morning with the last frazzles of fog slowly dissolwing over the fields and the sea and it was treat enough to ride the bike in the mid of the summer not yet being pulled into the daily routine. And then I decided to leave the usual path and to take what might have been a shortcut through the forest. And I was so totally, extraordinary rewarded with all these images that you normally only see on the photo wallpapers and think "this is to photoshoped to be true". Well, it was not: Unfortunately I only had my phone with me, grrrr!!!! (Note, dear, another lesson.)
Of course I got lost in this magic forest! isn't that typical for a "shortcut"? Lucky me, I still managed to get to work on time. And here is the third lesson: take more time to discover the world on your way trough life! |
